Appeal to the Prime Minister: Revive the Final Tax Regime (FTR)

The Women Chamber of Commerce & Industry Sialkot (WCCIS) stands in solidarity with the Sialkot Chamber of Commerce & Industry and other associations in urging the government to restore the Final Tax Regime (FTR).

The SME-based value-added Export Sector of Sialkot is the backbone of Pakistan's economy, driving growth and creating jobs. The recent shift from the FTR to the Normal Tax Regime (NTR) has placed an undue burden on our exporters, especially the SMEs, including many women-owned businesses.

The NTR's complex compliance requirements force SME exporters, including our WCCIS members, to navigate administrative hurdles instead of focusing on production and expansion. This burden is unsustainable for companies and AOPs in the competitive international market, resulting in declining exports.

Increased FBR involvement raises the risk of malpractices and threatens business stability. Moreover, many women entrepreneurs who are currently doing business but are not yet registered will likely refrain from registering due to these complexities.

We humbly demand to restore the Final Tax Regime to unburden our exporters, simplify taxes, and secure Pakistan’s economic future.
